Terry Fox came up with the idea of running a nationwide campaign for cancer research and treatment in Canada. Despite being diagnosed with cancer in his right leg, he decided to run and raise money. He started running 24 miles every day. It ran 143 days a year. He ran a total of 3339 miles.
Then the doctor said, 'The leg cancer has reached the lungs.' Then he stopped running. He died soon after. People set up a foundation in his name. 35 cr. Dollars raised. When Terry was running, people would ask him, 'Why do you run so fast when you have leg cancer?' The answer was, "My goal was to get to just one pole."
